Hey flake,

If you've been suffering with dandruff since you were 4 it sounds to me like you might have something else causing the flakes like a sin condition or alergy. Lets go through the steps of how to care for your hair.

How often do you wash your? -- should be everyday.

What is the temprature of the water? --very hot water is too drying to the skin which can cause flakes.

How often do you change your towel? -- should be once a week.

When you shampoo, do you rub, scrub, massage or treat your head softly like you're rubbing lotion on? --you need to work those fingers through your scalp alot.

Do you rinse well?

Do you blow dry or blow dry on high heat?-- sometimes blow drying can be good and some times no good depends on what your scalp problem is.

How often do you wash your brush and comb?--if you control your flake problem with medicine but reinfect yourself with a dirty brush you will continue to have flakes or worse.

Do you use any chemicals on your hair such as gel or spray or dye? --they can cause alergic reactions on the scalp.

How often do you change your pillow case?--once a week

Do you share brushes, towels, bedding with other family members or friends?--they can reinfect you.

Are you the only one in your household with a dandruff problem?--take a look around at the other scalps in the house they may have it too.

Do you cover your head for religous reasons?--sometimes when you cover your head the scalp doesn't get enough air and sunlight which kills or controls moisture and moisture loving organisims.

Do you wear a hat?--wash it weekly.

Is there a moldy enviornment where you shower, wash your clothes, or where you live?--there should be no scent of mold or mildew on your towel or anywhere. mold and mildew are organisims that will also grow on wet skin.

Do you sweat alot?--try to stay dry.

If you pretty much follow my guide you should be all right.

Now for other reasons assocaited with what looks like dandruff.

What color is your scalp where the dandruff is?

What color is the other ';normal'; area?--if you scalp is crusty or white or yellowish where the dandruff is then it is most likely not just ordinary dandruff. are there red patches or skin that looks inflamed but that is where the scalp is ';normal';? are the flakes tiny or large?

Dandruff can be caused by food alergies, improper diet, the bodies reaction to too much of something or not enough of something else. Some examples are milk and dairy foods, sweets, white flower products and starches. If your diet has too much of one of the types of bad foods stop eating them. Eat more raw veggies.

Dandruff can also be caused by a similiar organisim to ringworm, athlethes foot, and jockitch so that it needs a real medication and it needs to be understood that you can be reinfected if others have it too.

See a dermatologist.

Dandruff or what you think is dandruff could also be several skin conditions--exceema, phsorisis which means you'll have to see a doctor regularly to keep it under control.--a dermatologist

Now here's the kicker, you can also get dandruff if you are highly

stressed-out or if your hormones aren't functioning right. Even if given proper treatment, such as medicated shampoos, it will only help but so much because you also need to treat the hormone problems or stress issues in order to clear up the dandruff for good.-- you may need a different type of doctor such as and endocrunologist(?) for your hormones and a shrink and a yoga instructor for better stress management.

In the meantime you can try this natural product called tea tree oil.

It will hepl to control the organisims that produce the flakey skin and redness. You can buy a bottle for $10.00 at vitamin world.com.

I like to pour some in my hand before bedtime and saturate the scalp with the tea tree oil where the ich and flaking are the worst. You may also use a cotton ball. It is not oily even though it is oil so it will dry. It really will help.

Good LuckI have been suffering of 'dandruf' since 4year, I try my best but in vein,so give me advise, what should I do?
How often do you wash your hair? I used to wash my hair every other day and I found would have some dandruff problems so I wash it every day now using regular shampoo (Garnier Fructis).

If all else fails you could try going to see a dermatologist.
Are you sure it's just dandruff and not something like eczema? Eczema's a persistent skin condition that results in dandruff. If you have such a skin condition you should see a doctor for special medications.
take one egg or two according to ur hair separate egg white, mix some lemon drop in egg white and few drops of some hair oil. Mix it and apply it on ur head for two hours and wash afterwards. Do this two times a week. Hope it will help you.
Try using Selsun Shampoo for dandruf. I have tried it. When used 2 times a week for 2-3 weeks dandruf usually does not come back again.

Go bald

its teh sht trust me
