Does any1 have any homemade beer advise?

I'm interested in trying to make my own beer and was wondering if any1 has any advise or know of any website with information on how to get started and what things i need to have to start.Does any1 have any homemade beer advise?
Alton Brown is my favorite TV chef because he doesn't just tell you how to cook something, but the reasoning and science behind what you're doing as well. With that in mind, I recommend his method for home brewing beer. The recipe can be found on the food network website (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton鈥?/a> ) but why just read the recipe when you can watch the full episode, complete with tips, tricks, and all the information you'll need from finding a source of hops, to bottling and serving?

Certain individuals have taken all of Alton's work and submitted it you Youtube, so I'd recommend using the episode ';Amber Waves'; as a Manual/Bible for this project.

You can usually find a store that sells malt, yeasts and stuff to make beer and wine in most any large town. Do a google search and you will find all kinds of info. I made homemade beer a long time ago. I used a new plastic garbage pail to make mine in. One word of advice: Don't drink beer that has just been ';completed';. You will either get sick or get diarrhea. You need to age it for at least 30 days. Also, my dad used to make homemade beer and it used to explode in the cellar, so study up on why the bottles do that so it doesn't happen to you. Avoid putting the bottles in sunlight, too.
I like the guy's answer about Alton Brown. Not letting the bottles explode is also a great idea, because it is a very real chance.

I brewed beer years back and at the time the guy who was looked at as the formost authority was Michael Jackson. Not the dead one with one glove, but the other one. I would look at Amazon and search for homebrewing, and look for M.J.

I'm looking at the man with the beer,

I'm asking him to heat his wurt,

No message could have been any clearer,

If you drink your beer before it's done your gonna get hurt.
i am a home brewer....u can get an entire home brewing kit online for around $100. it comes with directions and all the equipment u need and the ingridients to brew about 48 bottles. if u have any questions...got to www.beeradvocate.com. it has a forum for home brewers where u can get ur questions answered. word of advice: be patient!!! beer takes a while to ferment. u will get the temptation to pop open a bottle early but the longer it ferments in the fridge, the better! good luck!

Basically a web version of John Palmer's highly regarded brewing book. It takes you from basic brewing all the way up to about as complicated as you could hope for.

You can take a dog to India. Unless you are moving there, why would you? Hard on an animal.

Also, look at your own country's laws. You may be able to take the dog out, but not get it back in.

If I am asked for advice, I would only give the truthful best I could providing I knew exactly what the asker was needing to know, no good lying, they will never trust your words of advice again, my main bit of advice to anyone is to keep it legal whatever it is. and Don't hurt any one, they can take their own advice and get hurt without me helping them to do it.

So philosophically speaking, you might find that if you think your own advice is best, then take that, but if mine is worth listening to, it might be worth taking, I hope this helps you, to make the right decisions for all of your lifetime.... Bye Tony M

I'm about to turn 21 yrs old (on May 21, 1986) and I have been an assistant to a mortgage broker for the last two years. However, I feel as though i've reached the point of no more learning in this position. Therefore, I'm looking for advise as to how to become a mortgage loan underwriter or MTG loan consultant. Can anyone out there help?

In this industry--networking is very important and unfortunately I have not been able to find the connections or a mentor to aid me in the process. I'm actively pursuing my bachelor's degree online and plan to finish my MBA at Cal State Dominguez Hills . I'm very ethusiastic and pay attention to detail. Currently, I'm working on getting my real estate license since I took up the job to pay for college. I'm open to discuss questions you may have about me or to just chat ;-)In California, I'm Looking for advise as to how to become a MTG Loan underwriter or Loan Consultant?

I am a first time female car buyer - can you give me some advise that will keep the car sales people?

from taking advantage of me?I am a first time female car buyer - can you give me some advise that will keep the car sales people?
Make sure you go to the dealer with someone else, preferably and older family member. Let them know what you are looking for and planning to spend, and they'll help you to avoid being sucked into and overpowered sales pitch.I am a first time female car buyer - can you give me some advise that will keep the car sales people?
    Hi Nick,

Just by inquiring here you've already taken the first step, that is to expand your knowledge and become informed as much as possible about the process.

You didn't say if you are purchasing new or used, if it's new then you don't have to be concerned about the quality of the car you are buying (quality meaning the current condition, if it's been wrecked, flood damaged etc)

If it's used, then of course those are important factors and it's something that you need more info about.

First is to do some research on pricing, the best site is http://www.edmunds.com, there you can get the invoice pricing and be more prepared about what's considered a fair price.

You should be forthcoming, in a diplomatic way of course, let them know what you've found as far as pricing. This should be stated as soon as possible, or as soon as the conversation allows. By letting them know, they will at least not start so high with an original offer.

Don't appear to be so eager, if this is really the car you want, don't show it. This will allow leverage on their part and reduce your bargaining power once again.

Of course it's not just the bottom line price of the car that consumers pay for. It's add ons, such as paint sealants, undercoatings, window etching, PREP Fees and other items they may approcah you into buying.

My personal and professional opinion is that these items are very seldom needed, if at all.

Except for Gap insurance, this insurance will protect the value of the loan in case the vehicle is totalled, you'll be protected and not owe a on a totalled out car.

Extended warranties are another issue as well, depending on your usage of the vehicle, this may or may not be a good option for you. I'm a firm beleiver that they are valuable under the right circumstances, but they are not always a good idea for every circumstance.

If you consider a warranty, you can always purchase before the original factory warranty expires. If you purchase when you buy the car, and it's included with financing, you'll be paying finance charges for something that you aren't useing.

Financing is another source of income for dealers, if you finance thru a credit union or bank, you will most likely get a better interest rate, but if you finance outside the dealer, they may not be willing to negotaite with bottom line pricing.

You should compare the options and use an online comparison calucalator once you have the details. These can be found on most sites that offer auto loans.

Another small rule of thumb is the best time to buy, most people will tell you at the end of the month, this does have some value, but dealers will often ROLL the 1st day or 2 of sales into the previous month.

The manufactuer will offer incentives to dealers for number of cars sold, so if they are short, they may roll these couple of days to earn their incentives.

As with any business, sales people and dealerships are in business to make a profit, and so they should, but there is a big difference between making a profit and being taken advantage of.

Lastly, become familar with some of the scams that take place and be aware when they are attempting to push these on you.

    Jerry Christopher

    http://www.usedcarwise.com

PS--If you are buying used, as I mentioned above, more research and knowledge will be needed.
If at all possible, don't go to a used car dealer. Your best bet is to buy a car from an individual.
let him take advantage of you! sleep with him. especially if he's married. the next day try and get a good deal. trust me.
If possible take someone along who knows what they are talking about, assuming that you don't. Failing that, there are websites about that can tell you about common faults on used cars, often with a checklist for you to print off. When it comes to haggling for price, ask for a reasonable discount (don't ask for way too much, hoping to meet in the middle) and state a reason for it - even if it is spurious.
I hate to say it but you need to take a man with you - even if he knows absolutely nothing about cars - that's just the sexist world we live in I'm afraid.

You could always do your homework before going to the garage (specification, fuel economy, engine size, previous owners etc) - just be prepared to be bull sh***ed.
Show these guys your confidence. Think like a guy. Remember that you are meeting them to buy a car, not to flirt with them. Get a friend with you if necesasry. Be prepared to walk out of the conversation if something isn't right. :)
I'm a female who's bought 3 cars practically on my own. You DO NOT need to take a man with you. However, know the facts. Do your research online, decide what kind of car you want and know the in's and out's, know what the vehicle is worth. This way when you get to the dealership they won't be able to tell you that you are getting a bargain when you really aren't. Also, know what your credit score is and what reasonable interest rates are for your score so that they won't be able to stiff you there either. Assess your expenses and know what you can and cant afford, often times a sales person will try to convince you to buy something you REALLY can't afford afterwards you are the one stuck making the payments and there is NO WAY OUT! And if you really want to ensure everything is on the up and up (in respect to pricing) ask them to see their invoice cost, you鈥檇 be amazed at what they'll show you just to make the sale!

Oh yea try going at the end of the month.... Sales people are a lot more willing to please the customer since they have a quota to meet!

    Remember be ASSERTIVE!

    GOOD LUCK!!!!
Be wary. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

Be very careful of private sales - often cheap and convenient but not so fun when the police knock on your door and take your car as it's stolen.

Be cautious too, of cars they seem keen to make a good deal on - they have good reasons for wanting to palm them off! If there say, are two cars of the same make and kilometres but one is a lot cheaper - look for the hitch.

Don't be sucked in by ';high performance'; features like a turbo - tends to use a lot more fuel, too.

Be cautious of cars formerly used for taxi work, deliveries, police work, etc. People often think it's good they've had a lot of regular use - but they've also often been given a fair hiding on the roads - more wear as a result.

Former government department cars are good - usually low hours and often LPG - at least here in Australia!
Make sure it has a recent road-worthy certificate! (blue certificate). If not don't go there; it may not have passed a vehicle inspection which allows the car to be road-worthy and registered.

RACQ provides extensive information and advice relating to buying cars. (www.racq.com.au) They provide services such as vehicle inspections, and and will inform you of the company to contact to do a search on the car if it is secondhand, to make sure it is not stolen or the property of a finance company. Don't believe everything you're told and make sure you have a cooling-off period on your contract before signing. Happy days!

    Advise for a sewing beginner?

I will be learning how to sew this summer and was wondering what's a good project to start with. I plan to sew some of my own clothes and don't want an ugly pattern thing to do. Also I've hand sew small pillows before but they're not very good. So now I'll be using a machine.

If you have any advise on what to start with or know of an online pattern thats good and easy that would be helpful. Or any sites to see about easy sewing for beginners. Also any tips you can tell me. Or what types of things I'll need to make whatever it is.

Any advise you have will be very much appreciated.Advise for a sewing beginner?
start simple. pajama pants are easy, tote bags are easy, maybe a simple dress. dont get worked up if stuff doesnt turn out perfect the first time. take a look at clothing you already have and like, see how its stitched and things like that. it will give you ideas of how to put new stuff toghether.Advise for a sewing beginner?
Great idea on learning to sew. You are correct about the patterns. They are all extremely homely. If you want to look like the reading teacher that the other teachers felt sorry for, get the patterns.

This is my strong recommendation - Take a beginner sewing class. When you are learning how to sew, it is best to learn from another human who is there with you to show you the basics of how to thread the machine, the differences in thread, needles, fabrics, etc. Also, if you are in a class, all of you can tard out together and learn from each other. They are offered everywhere for not that much money. I took one class for four sessions and we made a simple skirt. The lessons I learned in the class were a tremendous help in many areas beyond the skirt.

Making your own clothes is great. It is more expensive at first, but after a while, a long while, once you get the hang of it, you can really rock out with your own designs. Start small. You can practice by altering existing clothes.

The book that I found most helpful is the Reader's Digest Complete Guide to Sewing.

When buying scissors, don't be cheap. Buy nice, heavy Gingher brand scissors. Use them only for fabric, never for paper or anything else.

If you stick to it on a project by project basis, you will be so enlightened, that you will levitate and your friends will marvel at your style.
Start with something like a pair of pajama pants, an apron, or a tote bag. Something with simple seams, nice sturdy fabric, and not a lot of cutting out to do. If you go to a fabric store, the ladies at the cutting counter generally have wonderful advise on what kind of fabrics to use, and should be helpful. Good luck!
    go to http://www.joann.com

they have patterns that you can order and have sent to you as well as fabrics. you cannot get an online pattern though because printer paper isnt that big. imagine a piece or paper the size of a pair of pants.

the first thing i made when i learnt how to sew last year was a simple pair of pajama pants. some of my friends made boxers. then the next thing i made was a simple dress with a pattern. now i am making a terry cloth jacket and yoga pant set. i reccomend not doing a knit for your first project, you have to use a differnt needle, and it is harder to sew. i started with flannel.

you will need to get the items for your sewing machine first

(bobbins, thread, special needles, etc). then you have to choose the patern. on the back of the patern, it recomends different types of fabric and how much to get. and it tells you to get the diferent things like zippers and elastic for example.

also, not all patterns are ugly. just get a pattern as a starting point. you can get different types of fabrics and change the legnths of things. a pattern will speed up your whole process though.

good luck with your sewing and i hope it goes well!

Our old potterton boiler needs a replacement control anybody out there who can advise?

its the timer relay I think but I dont want to replace boiler with a condensing model until they are proven as I've heared some bad reports when condensing boilers are fitted into older propertiesOur old potterton boiler needs a replacement control anybody out there who can advise?
I think you will find that parts for these boilers are going to be hard if not impossible to find. We have been replacing them instead of trying to repair them. You do not have to go with a condensing boiler as a wall-hung boiler replacement. We sell a self-contained unit called the Baxi Luna boiler (www.wallhungboilers.com) that can (and has) very successfully been used as a replacement.

    Good luck,

You can buy timer relay from any electrical or instrumentation outlet.Your working voltage and model type(normally 12volt or 24 volts) and timer in seconds or the type whereby you can choose for seconds or minutes at will.Omron is a very reliable replacement and easily available. You can pull it out easily and look into the data.

I am runnning a 1500 metre race in two days time please please advise me on how to do the best i can?

i have practised but i am very depressed for some reason this now takes me 9 minutes with me running non stop as fast as i can!! my dad says i am unfit because of this but i do excercise everyday.. are there any tips for the race anyone can give me please?I am runnning a 1500 metre race in two days time please please advise me on how to do the best i can?
If you exercise everyday, then you should be very proud of yourself. Your Dad is an idiot. Not everyone can run a 5min mile, it just isn't going to happen. 9min is nothing to be embarassed about. WIthout knowing anything about your training or expectations, I would recommend you start slow. When you race, you get an adrenaline kick that makes you feel FANTASTIC for about 10sec, then you crash hard and it makes the rest of the race very difficult. Wear a watch and focus on staying very relaxed and running slightly slower than your target time for the first 2min. After that, you can start to pick up the pace and finish strong. Good luck!I am runnning a 1500 metre race in two days time please please advise me on how to do the best i can?
Make shure u warm-up well for about 20-30 min of easy running. in the race start off by getting a good spot up front, but not first if u can't keep it. also don't get boxed in at the start. start picking-up the pace on the 3rd 1/2 lap. on the last lap speed up a little to a faster pace. the last 200 meters start picking up the pace and sprint before you hit the last 100 meters.

you should really focus on workouts. it will change the way u race. u can get workout plans off the internet or go to a running store.

i work at the Running Center in California. the best place to go for a runner. go to www.runningcenters.com

also my college coach is Morceli. who coached three olimpic gold medalists.

u can trust my advice because of my background.

    Good Luck on the race
If you are running a race you should try to run an even pace for the entire race. Don't go out too fast because you will get tired and slow down. Don't go out too slow because you can not make up the time you lost when you ran too slow. Run what is possible for you. If it takes 9 minutes then run the first lap in 2:10. You can probably run a little faster than what you have been running if you run even. Just do your best, that is all anyone can do, you can not do more than what you can do.
You need to give us more details...age, etc.

It is not you nor your computer it is yahoo. Yahoo did some upgrading and it caused a lot of bugs and it is affecting a lot of people. Hope this helps!!!Not getting all my emails and they seem to come from Yahoo email accounts. I can't figure it out. Any advise?
If you can figure out all the problems with Yahoo, pack your suitcases now 'cause you're going to Sweden to pick up your Nobel prize! Unfortunately, Yahoo mail is one of the few programs I've encountered that's worse every year.

I also have mails I'm not receiving, though not only from Yahoo accounts. Of course the problem with not receiving mail is you don't know what you're not receiving. My experience e-mailing technical support at Yahoo is that those e-mails get lost, too. You may get code 25, or some other code I get a lot of, or just an error message (or you might get errors but not the message), none of which customer support can or will do a thing about (they haven't in my case, other than telling me the problem is ';unusual'; and suggesting I try ';classic'; mail, which doesn't worse so well anymore either. Usually programs with this many visible problems have far worse errors you aren't seeing, producing problems, perhaps like the ones you're having.

You can try to get around it: tell people to put ';delivered'; receipts on all their mails to you and you do the same, so at least you have a hint of what's not getting to you. Although this may slow down the already glacial Yahoo mail.

The easiest thing is to just switch to one of the working systems: certainly Google's mail seems to work far better than Yahoo. To my surprise I've been having good results with my Windows Live account as well.

As far as I can tell Yahoo just keeps getting worse and worse. I think the day will come when you'll want to get rid of it, if it hasn't already.
You can not fix it. THousands of users are reporting this problem in both Classic and New Mail. Yahoo is working on the site. It is not your computer.

    We are all waiting.

Yahoo Help is swamped with complaints. Recently they have been answering ';The problems have been resolved. Your email is working fine'; when the user can see that it is not working ';fine';.

I know it sounds cheesy, but when I was depressed a while ago, I looked in the mirror and smiled and thought of all of the good things I liked about myself. It really helped me out a lot.How I can develop my self-confidence plz give me advise.?

How I can develop my self-confidence plz give me advise.?
    Knowledge is power

    Power boosts your self confidence.

    Knowledge in what sphere?

This is a tricky question. Knowledge is not only in your academics, it is also knowing everything. Best of it is problem solving skills. These skills come to you with more knowledge about how things work, what are the constituents of material, behaviour of people,..... everything in the world.

If you develop the habit of being CURIOUS about everything in life, you will start questioning everything. The more answers you get, the more knowledgeable you become. Thus you become more powerful. This boosts your SELF CONFIDENCE.

Other thing is that your physique. You make some attempts to realise the capabilities of your physique., your abilities and limitations. Learn to live comfortably with all your limitations.

    This boosts your SELF CONFIDENCE.

just YOGA, books, advices, courses, teaching etc. will not boost your confidence, it assists and encourages you to get away from your shyness and under-estimation of your abilities. They may some times mis-lead you into believing and behaving as a superman, while you are an ordinary person like any one.

Few people are born with extraordinary self confidence.

Few people are born with very good communication skills.

But may persons with good self confidence are seen to contain reasonably good knowledge in one or the other fields.

All the best for a CONFIDENT FUTURE.
if you want to develop your self-confidence,you should do right things, in every steps you walk it should be right.

dint ask anyone that u r right or not, just feel in your heart. dont think negative, always be positive, think positive,do positive, that u can do every work u want to do .if u r above 18.then think yourself in every step.if u have a best friend and u trust him, then Sheree with him your every step, dint do conversation with everyone.
Self-confidence is your faith in yourself, it is natural power with humanbeaing.

The developement process start with not to lie with youself, means you should be truthful with yourself and try to achieve what ever you think and put hands in. Start from small things, just solve maths problems, try to speak better, try to improve your handwritting ..... and many more, as you achieve leave it and do not create ego of it. Automatically positive thinking starts and you will get benifited thru it and is called self-confidence.
I really struggled with my self-confidence for a long time, so I know what you're going through. I think the best advice I can think of is to keep trying to find what makes you feel comfortable with yourself. Dont loose track of who you really are just keep developing it. One thing I've learned is that you always keep becoming a more complete ';you'; if you stay close to who you really are. Find what you like about yourself and emphasize it. Find the friends you enjoy being with, the clothes that make you feel good, the places you enjoy and the things you like to do. Get to know yourself and become your own friend. Other people will notice when you feel comfortable with yourself %26amp; that will make you feel good too.
Practice at something you have some ability and interest in... take lessons in something you've been interested in, for example. Not only will you distract yourself from your supposed shortcomings, but you will develop a skill you can have pride in. Martial arts are excellent for this; anything in the arts, or learning a new language, or cooking, or anything else you wish to learn can help here.
You do meditation.Listen your inner voice.Trust and love yourself.Do exercises and listen good music.Go for walk. Watch nature and good TV programmes.Read good educational books.Be comfortable and relax.Be calm and peaceful.Remember God and pray.Take bath and wear suitable clothes your liking develop your self confidence.
There are ways to increase your self confidence... Many may seem simple... practical or even trivial... but they are vital and effective tools.

You'll have a strong foundation for who you are and great support from this environment. Then, you'll be ready to get out of your circle with confidence. You will be yourself and show it with pride.

[This was my way out of low self-esteem]

AH there's so much to say.
first of all why you think that till now you don't have self confidence.first off all be live in yourself, always think positive, trust on your decisions.i had seen the answers which all has written for your questions but one thing i wanted to tell you is this that writ ting this much big big answers is easy but if you want the best answer for this question then ask it to yourself that are you really lacking in self confidence.
First step to gain self-confidence is to have self-acceptance first. you have to accept yourself irespective of all your weakness. Learn to appreciate the good in you and others and seek the help of others when you really don't know what to do things that are not clear to you. '; Man Can be defeated but he/she can't be destroyed'; - Hemmingway.

so never bury urself beofe you have actual time due for Your burial. so go ahead......will it and own it.
';You are the architect of your own destiny';. Your sub-conscious mind is the builder of your destiny. Whatever you impress on it later will move heaven and earth to bring it to pass. You must impress it with right ideas and constructive thoughts. You have ability to do anything you want. Choose the right path and be successful in your life. May the God bless you! All the best for your future!
well i had that problem before ..first you need to love youself for who you are as a person.. like if your a nice person your fun to be around with .. find things you like .. and afther you learn to love youself for who you are you wont care about how you look on the outside so much trust me . hope this helped and when you start feeling better people are gonna notice and it will make you feel evan better . so worry about loving yourself first alright take care hope you feel better i really do.
Simple.. Be YOURSELF always and ever. Because every one has some unique talents.. Explore YOUR talents. Start Thinking Deeply!!! But at the same time mingle with others also.

Whenever you see people whom you know just SMILE at the them. Smile brings a great energy and enthusiasm within yourself. It makes you to FEEL GREAT. What does it mean?? Your Self confidence level has increased now!! So stay light always even in bad situation.

Remember one thing. Whatever happens in your life 'It is for your good sake only'. If you start to think like that you will not over-react to any situation whather it is good or bad. Then you will gain the confidence to face it. YOU WILL GAIN SELF CONFIDENCE TO LIVE THIS WONDERFUL LIFE...

Start enjoying the pleasures of the nature...

Keep smiling... Stay cool... Good Luck...
Small things makes big difference...What ever the thing u doing , useful or useless,,do it perfectly and 100 percent..

Don't think about the upcoming result once u start any work..

Once u finished a work artistically u will get confidence to do the things..Everything lies in planning...Make short term plans and enjoy the succes of completing it perectly..No need of Meditation...No need of councelling...Just enjoy the work..

    All the best buddy..
    Believe in yourself

before u take up any task

    - look into the mirror and tell yourself ';I CAN DO IT';

    - don't let questions like ';CAN I';, ';WILL I BE ABLE TO';, ';DO I DESERVE THIS';, ';HOW CAN I DO THIS';, ';WILL I BE ABLE TO FINISH THIS';......... come into your mind

    - never let anyone tell u that u cannot do something ( they say so because they couldn't do it )

    - do not share your ideas with your fellow-mates ( they may tend to copy u'r idea and present it in a better way and this may shatter your confidence and the uniqueness of your work )

    and most of all........

    - think positive about yourself

    remember this - ';I AM WHAT I THINK';

    '; you are the historian of your past, the custodian of your present and the architect of your future ';

go on and become an successful architect ( architect in this case )
It is your mind setup. first you should feel that you can do better than others. get involved, think and do it try to do differently, get the experience of others do it on your own. avoid spoon feeding. control your emotion, do it concentrately your self confidence will automatically improve
self confidence is not developed automatically. It develope step by step . to developed self confidence frist leave fear from your mind. than think about your mistake. when you do this than you achieve success each step of life than self confidence will develop automatically.
Believe in yourself. Treat others with respect - like you would like to be treated, yrself. Remember we all make mistakes, no one is perfect, but learn from yr mistakes

You could also join a martial arts class, it helps, when you know that you can defend yrself
Find people that make you feel beautiful, that make you feel confident. Everything, in it's own way is beautiful.

A bee on it's own is plain, no? But on the tip of a rose's petal is where it is beautiful.
accept everything what u have. u r the best. in case any mistake occurs, accept it willingly. do everything deeply keeping full attention. if u feel anything bore, leave it for some time.create fresh mood and try again confidently thinking nothing is biring !
dint think about past or feature, because all bad works or good works we are doing , and all the power with in only. whatever we want we can do. and all so their is no bad work in the world. will you tell me, do you be live god is their?
Well, I believe self-confidence is developed by trying out new things or trying to solve your problems. 'Cause that's what happened to me. You can also try out doing things that you feel inconfident about.
Always listen to your heart. If you listen to your heart in any situation then you will find out your weak points. So next time you can take care about that.If you do so than confidence will come in you naturally.
it simple buddy.....think and believe you are the best...friends play a major role in the development of self confidence.....choose your friends such tat they support you...and not the one who betrays you......get close with your parents....coz...dey help you a lot in lyf's paths....
You can develop your self confidence by applying following steps:

    1. Learn New things

    2. Concentrate on things which are difficult for you

    3. Try to resolve your problems at your hand, if not possible then ask for help
You can develop by doing meditation regularly. Then automatically you can get self-confidence.

What would you advise w/ this investment?

Suppose that you have a client that is very risk adverse. He is 50 years old and has a 20+ year investment time horizon.

Despite his risk aversion, he wants to generate a rate of return greater than that of the current money market. His existing portfolio is invested 100% in bonds.

Assuming that this is all that you know about the client, would you advise that he add equities to the portfolio? Why? How much?

What would you advise w/ this investment?
I would discuss with him the option of committing 20% of his portfolio to solid dividend-paying stocks. If he focuses on the dividend yield, he won't worry so much about daily fluctuations in stock prices. The beauty of starting such a plan now is that he will probably also get fine capital appreciation when the economy recovers, as it certainly will.

The stock market begins recovering at about the midpoint of a recession, NOT at the end, as many believe. By the time the news turns uniformly good, the market will be significantly higher. For those interested in an equity portfolio, these are wonderful times.

So, to your client, point out the idea that high-dividend yield stocks can be a relatively safe way to outpace the money market, and that buying stocks in a recession is a good idea because prices are cheap and they eventually recover.

Among many good candidates for your client, suggest that he look at Pfizer (PFE). It has a current yield of 7.6% and a P/E of just 11. The risk/reward ratio is favorable.

Good luck! What would you advise w/ this investment?
If very risk adverse I would recommend a bond ladder buying a ladder of maturities in bonds on the secondary market to increase yield and keep risk very low.

A high risk aversion is generally a result of lack of knowledge. A percentage of stocks can be managed to be less risky with diversification and proper re-balancing which by nature sells high and buys low.

But most people have trouble with the concept and if they are okay with a lower return in order to sleep at night, that has a different value to them.

Everybody wants the impossible goal of higher return with no risk. I simply tell them:

    No!

    Impossible!

Risk and reward are proportional and you are only paid a higher return for taking more risk.

If they want a high return with no risk they need to find a goose that lays golden eggs. LOL.

Then I tell them THEY have to decide on their risk tolerance to get a higher return. They don't get to decide on a higher return and then choose a lower risk. It is either/or.

But, an adviser can show them how risk can be mitigated with diversification, re-balancing, and dollar cost averaging in to other investments. That is the benefit of an adviser.

A higher return but no higher risk is a dream. Money doesn't work that way.

    Now, where is that goose?
He should wait until the current recession ends in a year or more since stocks won't go up during the worst recession since 1929.

If he invests some in stocks after the recession ends, his stock portfolio should be calculated somewhat like the usual recommended method of using a precentage equal to either 100 - your age or 110 minus your age.

If very risk adverse, I would make it an even smaller percentage.
You have already said your client is very risk adverse. Anything you recommend for him that involves risk, he will be unhappy with.

One thing you could recommend, that this client would understand, just by it's logic, is to invest in an index fund. After all, the stock market is at a very low point, so therefore, these funds have nowhere to go, but basically up............over time.
Risk aversion is impossible to quantify without some 1on1 discussions. Risk is different form volatility. I am building a portfolio of moderate yield stocks for my sister. It COULD go down, but there are some very high yields out there on quality stocks right now. It is a no-brainer to build a 7% plus yield stream. And in 10 years these stocks will all be at least doubles, some up 4-5x.
No, no equities. A bond portfolio generates a return greater than a money market return so it meets his criteria.
I would need to know what other assets he holds.

But with 20 years to invest, I'd shift my equity position to about 60%.

100% in bonds will eat up his money due to inflation.

Any one have advise to get bigger and stronger?

Im just starting out in lacrosse and im way too skinny i only weigh 125 so i want to get bigger and stronger so i dont get crushedAny one have advise to get bigger and stronger?
There isn't a ton you can do in season to bulk up, it is more of an off season process. Since I imagine your first game is probably 3 months+ away, the first thing to do is eat more. If you're running around conditioning and going through a day of school at 125 pounds, I would say you should be eating around 3500-4000 calories to gain weight. Don't load up on sweets and junk food though, be smart about it. Rice, pastas, beans (yes the musical kind), veggies, lean meats (lean cuts of beef, chicken, and fish), and make sure you're staying hydrated. The average person can gain a pound or two just through being fully hydrated (clear pee is a good indication, but not so you're going to the bathroom every half hour). To avoid food overload try to spread your meals into 4x per day, but not more because then your metabolism will begin to speed up and you'll lose the benefit of extra calories.

If you can, get in the weightroom and start doing leg work. Squats, power cleans, push press, lunges and deadlift will bulk up your legs quickly which will be more important for you to focus on right now, that way even if you are a little bit smaller, you'll still have a solid base to work with. Also work on your low back and abs to support your legs and be able to begin to transfer your leg strength through to your upper body. Next focus on building your chest, upper back and shoulders. You really don't even need to worry about bis/tris because since they're used with practically every upper body exercise, they'll come along naturally and you can start working on them more in the offseason.

A real general plan is to go 3x10 for each exercise for the first two weeks to get a baseline set. Then add weight and go 3x5 for the next two weeks, 3x8 for the next two weeks after that, 3x12 for the next two after that, 1x10, 1x8, 1x6 the next two weeks and for what should be close to starting your season 3x10 again. Work out twice or three times a week if possible. Never lift a muscle group more than twice a week though. Also, don't be a hero and start out way too heavy, pick a weight that is difficult to do, but low enough that you can complete each set. Your last rep on your last set should be almost impossible to do, if it is fairly easy, keep going until you can't do anymore, this is called burnout and crucial to add mass quickly. Just remember to keep eating plenty of protein to replace the protein you're breaking down in your muscles. Good luck with it.Any one have advise to get bigger and stronger?
Eat high protein diet, but don't over eat. Work out. Muscle is heavier than fat. Give yourself time to grow and fill out. You may hit a growth spirt or you may be one of those that can't gain weight. Genetics can have an influence on you size.

Christians, if doctors advise you to masturbate regularly to reduce risk of prostrate cancer, will you?

ha! they do that anyway...Christians, if doctors advise you to masturbate regularly to reduce risk of prostrate cancer, will you?
yes, masturbation have very good effects on health, its relieves stress, reduce risk of prostrate cancer as you said, it makes us have more self control in sexual situations so we do less imprudent things, it makes easier not cheating on your wife or girlfriend. Also this doesn't do any damage to anyone so, if it is good and doesnt have anything bad, then it isnt a sin, why would god forbid something that is good and inoffensive?Christians, if doctors advise you to masturbate regularly to reduce risk of prostrate cancer, will you?
    I would tell my doctor I had the situation well-in-hand. And by the way, I think being at your ideal weight is even better insurance against prostate cancer. Along with eating a handful of pumpkin seeds every day and taking a Vitamin D supplement. I'm not a doctor, dietitian or expert. But I do thrive on good nutrition and ';sexercise.';
There is no correlation between male masturbation and reduction of the risk of prostate cancer. As for the frequency of masturbation, the figures I have heard are 95% of the population admit to it and the other 5% are liars.
Mazza: female masturbation levels hormone swings, tones pelvic muscles, and reduces the risk of a pelvic/ligament injury if you play sports.

And to answer the Q, my uber christian brother would rather risk the cancer than touch himself.
Forget trying to educate them about it, they would rather become a statistic even if it is before their expected age to die.

Good you've done your research, out with the old and in with the new! :)
No. A new study indicates that excessive masturbation can actually trigger the possibility of prostate cancer. The conclusion? - More study is needed.
90% of men in America masturbate, and 75% of women in America. Since 76% of the U.S. is Christian, it's safe to say most of them already do.
They would claim they ';would gladly die first';, typing it with one hand, while masturbating with the other.
I suspect that if they refuse to do it, it's because they're secretly hoping for the colonoscopy.
Everyone masturbates. Some people just lie :)
Only Roman Catholics (as far as I know) consider male masturbation a sin.

Not being RC, I'm pretty much good to go!
    whats wrong with masterbation?

there is nothing wrong with it, its natural and normal.

but you pick, materbate or die
I would love to see girls masturbate more.(is that a good enough excuse?)
I wish there was some awesome excuse for girls to do it all the time, too. Then I wouldn't be so weird...
    yep
Your sins are forgiven you. Jesus died for all sins and now you are sin free having read/heard this. So now you are sin free what will you do with your life?

Being sin free makes you Christian too, so let us get to know God better and better. But what are you going to do now being free of sins?

    take care.

God can do more than a doctor, so doctor no, but God I would have to.
I would gladly die first. Scripture teaches that God curses those that ';spill their seed '; (masturbate) !!

Can anyone please advise of a 8mm or hi8 mm video camera with video stablizer?

i'm looking for an 8mm or high 8mm video camer with video stabalizer '(anti-shake). i don't know the exact name of it. but a list of video cameras, make and model, would be greatly appreciated .

thanksCan anyone please advise of a 8mm or hi8 mm video camera with video stablizer?
This has been a fairly standard feature in most makes/models camcorders for several years now. I've had a Sony Handycam with this feature for about 8 years now and have been very happy with it.

(Mine's a model DCR-TRV130, Hi8 560x digital zoom with built in infrared (marketed as ';Nightshot';) - but like I said, mine's more than a half dozen years old. There are much better models out there.)

How can I immigrate to Australia from Russia. Please advise me practicable way.My e-mail victor7ta@yahoo.com.au

I and my wife are going to move in Australia in 2 or 3 years. We have been studying English for 6 months. We are planning to sell all our property and buy any house in your sunny and hospitable country. We would like to live, work and pray to the Lord. Believe, we could be useful for you. Save Our Souls! Thank you very much for your attention and a piece of good advice. With great gratitude, Victor.(Excuse me for my poor English)How can I immigrate to Australia from Russia. Please advise me practicable way.My e-mail victor7ta@yahoo.com.au
    Victor,

The statement that if you buy a house you become a citizen is wrong, this is not true in Australia.

You don't mention what work you do, but there is a skill shortage list in Australia, if you can perform one of these skills (and prove you can) then you can immigate there.

Another option is to find someone who will sponsor you to work there, this is not impossible but not very easy either.

If you are very well off financially then you can go in on a Business Visa but you have to open a business and invest a lot of money into it.

I really hope you can move to my homeland, so good luck and your English is pretty good to me!

Is easy , if you can buy a house in australia you become automatic citizen of the country , this is secret , get to the website and check at there consulate they are friendly , just mention the reason of your visit you become automatic citizen
Go to this website to obtain a Visa and find out which one you should apply for.

Well victor the best possible way ( which i think) is one of the both of u take addmissions to one of the courses in australia and get a PR in about 2 yrs. the other can stay with the student and earn in the mean time on permission. This is good if u r young.it is one of the fastest ways . there r other ways also but for that u have to show ur capital value and all the other stuff like that. Consult some counsular on this.
SIMPLE. ask your wife to become a nurse whilst both of you study english. after three years of your wifes training she will be a qualified nurse. then both of you can be over here for minimum four years with very little questions asked. Once you are over here for a while you can apply for residency which you will get as your wife is a nurse. it really just depends on your profession, if your needed you will be over here in a matter of months. goog luck and i hope to see you at the pub....DA!

Can somebody advise i am planning a trip to Switzerland from New York, cheap flights?

i am planning the trip in julyCan somebody advise i am planning a trip to Switzerland from New York, cheap flights?
Swiss Air for direct flights from JFK to Switzerland.

    Very good airliner...

You can also try flying to a major city, like London ..and then fly to Switzerland on one of them cheap airliners in Europe like

    EasyJet or RyanAir.

London is pretty expensive on the dollar...so also think in those terms...(any costs u may incur on that transfer)

Check the sites below and see what European cities service Bern or Geneva....then....check how much is it to get to that European city from JFK.

    Have Fun!

    I been to Geneva =)

Can you advise me on asking for a job reference from 5 years ago after having lost touch?

I am looking to change jobs (I am presently employed) and I need a reference from someone I worked with about five years ago. I haven't been in touch since I was laid off of that job and I am not sure how to approach the person I want to request a reference from. (My layoff came because of the economic downturn from the effects of 9/11.)Can you advise me on asking for a job reference from 5 years ago after having lost touch?
Skip it and explain yourself at the interview, you can always list a manager or HR person if you absolutely need a reference from that place..

I need advise about visiting New England & New Hampshire to see the foliage?

My parents have always wanted to see the changing of the leaves. It seems the best time to go is the last week of September %26amp; first week of October so I'm about to book.

I would be grafeful for any advise regarding the best places/areas to visit, when to go, where to stay, etc. We're from the UK so we'll hire a car but they are over 80 so not too much walking is possible.

Any recommendations, advice, web sites, etc would be most helpful.

    Thanks and regards,

    Hi, Charlie!

Here are a few websites that I hope you find helpful. I included the Manchester, NH airport website thinking that it would be better to fly into Manchester from Newark, NJ perhaps, rather than fly into Logan/Boston. You might wish to consult a travel agent for accurate flight information and convenient connecting flights.

A couple of years ago, my family road on one of the foliage trains. Beautiful! I highly recommend them.

One of the most spectacular areas of NH, is around Mt, Washington. It's the highest peak on the east coast and has an amazing observatory at the top. There is a way for cars to drive up, but the road is very treacherous. Definitely not for the faint of heart. They do have a cog railway that travels up to the top for those who do not wish to drive up the mountain.

Crawford Notch State Park which is in the Mt. Washington area is stunningly beautiful. If you go on Google Maps and look up New Hampshire route 302 Mt Washington, you'll see where Mt. Washington is and where Crawford Notch is. The highway is very mountainous and the scenery spectacular. When you pass through the Notch, there are great granite cliffs on either side of the highway. It's very dramatic. Keep your eyes on the road! It's kind of a strange area, it's a pretty busy highway (mainly tourists) but there's hiking trails all around so there's hikers crossing over the highway (2 or 4 lanes) sometimes.

I also sent you the website for the Mount Washington Resort. Perhaps it's above your price range, but it may be a treat to go in for tea or just look at the lobby. It's a magnificent property. You may wish to contact them directly for tea reservations.

In addition to the many hotels in the area, you can also rent a multi-bedroom condo at a ski resort.

Hope you enjoy and your parents enjoy your trip!

(hope I didn't overwhelm you with all the info!)I need advise about visiting New England %26amp; New Hampshire to see the foliage?
You are WRONG, WRONG, WRONG about timing. The last week of September the foliage height is in central Quebec!!!!!! (although you will see a rare new England tree that has begun to show colours). For New England, the height of colours is from about October 10th - October 18th for Massachusetts and New Hampshire (and Vermont).

The best areas to see the foliage, in my judgement, are:(October 10-14) anywhere in Northern Vermont; just wander the highways and byways, (October 13-18): central and southern Vermont, southwestern

New Hampshire (especially the Monadnock area) and the adjoining part of north central Massachusetts.

Unlike the 2 previous Answerers I do not feel it is quite as spectacular in northern New Hampshire.

I am sure there are loads of websites for Vermont and I know there is one for New Hampshire's Monadnock area,

Not only are there motels but also lots of lovely country inns. But it is advisable to make reservations; people from all over the world come to New England for foliage time, although last year not as much because of the recession.

    Have a fun time.
    Hi Charlie!

If you truly want to see our foliage and it is the sole reason for the trip, I would hold off on the trip until early-mid October. By the end of Oct. the leaves have all fallen so you should get peak colors around the 2nd week.

Cliff and Maybe I am Amazed gave you excellent information! They both know what they are talking about so there is no need for me to say it all again!!! ;)

I 2nd their thoughts about going to the White Mountains in NH and driving the Kangamangus highway, taking the cog railway as well as numerous scenic train rides. These are perfect for aging parents, do the research online and planning the trip will be very easy.

I have lived in New England for 20 years and still to this day, go there every fall to see the foliage. It is a stunning site, you will enjoy your trip very much if you plan it right!!
I agree that the last week in Sept is too early for the colors. Do book ahead of time as the motels fill up quick.
    Hi Charlie,

To see the peak during those dates - and each year peak foliage dates move around the calendar due to many factors - you're most likely looking at Vermont and nothern New Hampshire or even Northern Maine.

Peak is just a point in time and the colors are great two weeks before and two weeks after. So even though your dates may be a little early the further north you go you'll see good colors.

There are plenty of scenic drives and attractions in Vermont and New Hampshire to see the foliage. The ones that spring to mind are:

    1. In New Hampshire it's tough to beat the White Mountains region and in particluar the North Conway and Jackson area where you'll be right in the Presidential Range and Mount Washington Valley. In particular there is a scenic train that leaves form North Conway railroad station that provides a gentle ride through the valley for foliage viewing.

Additionally, the Kancamagus Highway is considered one of the most scenic drives in the whole of New England and especially outstanding in fall.

    2. The other area to base yourself out of is Vermont and either Stowe in the northern region or Woodstock in central Vermont. Woodstock is a popular destination as it has a tradional convered bridge and New England village green, and the Billings Farm Museum.

Close by is Mount Killington and they operate the Gondola during the fall season which takes you to the summit and some great views of the surrounding Green Mountains. Also consider taking Route 100 drive from Killington to Waterbury as you'll see waterfalls, drive through rural farm areas in the valley, and have plenty of photo opportunities.

    3. Stowe and the surrounding Lake Champlain area is another outstanding leaf peeping location around the times you mentioned. Stowe is famous for its skiiing but is a year-round mountain resort location and is a picturesque New England town in the middle of two mountain ranges.

Some resources for you that will also provide more details about best times to go and where and I used to pull this together for you can be found here:

    Good luck on your trip.

BTW: Despite the disagreements below on the dates and best time to go if you can't change your dates then just head north and you'll get color. Just be prepared to drive around to get to see the color and it can be different on one side of a mountain from the other.

Why do some people blow a gasket, when I advise strangers to ';Come to Jesus';?

Cause you put them under too much pressure and the gasket's seal gets busted. I didn't think you were Jesus, but, since I'm no Christian, what do I really know. The Christians are the know-it-alls or at least they tell me that. Blah on the tards who don't like my answer. Why do some people blow a gasket, when I advise strangers to ';Come to Jesus';?
I don't know who you are telling to ';come to Jesus';, so I can't answer for everyone. But I know that I am one of the people who sometimes ';blows a gasket'; at this sort of thing, so I will try to answer for myself (I am a Jew).

I recognize that ';spreading the word'; is an important part of the Christian faith, but it is feels very strange to me. Partly that is because Jews don't seek out converts, but also because I know that Christians and Christian churches are very welcoming of people who want to experience the faith.

I also feel somewhat insulted- the speaker might not know that that is what he is doing, but by telling me to ';come to Jesus'; he is telling me to abandon the faith of my fathers. I would never do such a thing, and I am hurt that a stranger thinks I would so readily turn my back on my culture, my history, and my G-d. If someone says something like that when I'm having a bad day, I probably won't think they are expressing concern over my own well-being. I will think they are insulting me and my faith.

Once or twice I have even felt threatened by insistent preachers. I don't know what your circumstances are, but tread lightly if you talking to non-Christians, because it is very easy for a member of a minority religion to mistake a friendly overture for physical threat. This is mostly true if they are immigrants from a country that does not have freedom of religion. If someone is bothered by something you've said, apologize for upsetting them even if you feel you did nothing wrong. I hope all of this makes sense and gives no offense. Why do some people blow a gasket, when I advise strangers to ';Come to Jesus';?
I am a believer in Christ but I imagine some people think it's unreal.

In fact at the last Catholic Youth rally in Sydney I was appalled at the ignorance about Him of even the media people covering the event.

So much so that I've committed to writing a book - a kids picture book on the subject. Hopefully, the parents will be enlightened too.

It wont be a DA VINCI CODE but ...!
Because who are you to judge where a person should stand in their religious views and faith.

The choice of faith is something that someone needs to come to on their own to be truly content. They need to find that will on their own, and then seek help, not be given help they do not want.
Remember how the demons squealed when they saw Jesus? It sort of the same thing.

Just make sure you don't say ';come to Jesus'; like Dolph Lundgren did in Johnny Mnemonic (1995)
Because instead of asking people up front to come to jesus, go to a street corner with the bible in your one hand , and a tin cup in the other and tell them that God loves you and maybe people will give you a gift.
Because they want you to leave them alone and your pretentious piousness pisses them off.

    or

They are trying to persecute you so live stronger in the word. Dude.
Why do you presume to give a stranger spiritual advice?
It's like the Snake calling Mowgli to slither away with him.
Because rational people know what that REALLY means.
    Because,

Get the hell outta my face.

    that's why.

Could someone advise me on getting the best health care insurance for a soon to be college graduate?

You need a trusted adviser to help you through the process of purchasing health insurance so that you understand what you are purchasing. Some may suggest going on line to get a quote but you probably already know that there is much more to health insurance than price. Some might even suggest a discount plan which is not insurance at all.

Ultimately, you are the one who will determine the affordability of your health insurance plan by deciding how much you will participate in sharing the cost of your health care with your insurance company.

If you choose a plan that covers everything i.e. doctors office visits, prescription drugs, preventative health benefits, maternity coverage as well as low deductibles, low copays and optional vision and dental benefits your monthly premiums will be significant.

On the other hand because you are young, presumably healthy and probably use the health care system rarely you could consider a plan that covers only the major health catastrophe which will result in a relatively low monthly premium. You then can use the monthly premium savings to pay for the occasional doctor visit and still come out ahead.

Check with the agent that writes your or your parents home or auto insurance he/she can provide you a health insurance proposal that takes into account your budget and health situation. They can answer questions as to what is and is not covered by the policy, explain deductibles and copays and show you the hospitals and doctors that participate in the network.

If you are seeking employment they might suggest a temporary insurance policy that is intended to cover you for a few months until you are hired by a company that offers group benefits.

Use the Internet to educate yourself but use an agent to purchase the coverage.Could someone advise me on getting the best health care insurance for a soon to be college graduate?
    There are two basic options.

Buy short-term insurance - low quality and low priced.

Buy permanent insurance - higher priced and higher quality.

You can cancel either policy at any time. The ';permanent'; plans are generally month-to-month contracts from the insured's perspective. The insurance company however, can only drop you for certain reasons.

A short-term policy will have the advantage of having a lower price, but will probably have several disadvantages. You cannot renew the policy. Pre-existing conditions won't be covered. Preventative care won't be covered.

A permanent policy will be more expensive, but you can typically keep a permanent policy as long as you need to. Short-term policies usually have a term of under 6 months. Some may cover you for a year.

If a permanent policy fits comfortably in your budget, that is the way to go. However, short-term plans are much less expensive and therefore may be your only option if money is tight.Could someone advise me on getting the best health care insurance for a soon to be college graduate?
If you are in college, you may want to check out health insurance programs that are written through your school. United Healthcare has a plan available at many US schools. These student injury and illness plans provide wide ranging coverage and are designed to be affordable for college students. To check if your school is participating, go to www.UHCSR.com and enter your school name in the search box. You might also be interested in joining the American College Student Association (ACSA), a national organization for college students. They have lots of member benefits, including student health insurance. Their membership fee is affordable. Perhaps one of these programs will carry you past graduatiuon until you can get an employer plan.
If you live in an area served by Kaiser Permanente, they have good coverage for the lowest prices for real coverage.

My daughter is outside the Kaiser area and she is happy with her Blue Cross plan.
Blue Cross Blue Shield - High deductible - cheap but covers the big stuff. Then maybe your future employer will have a good plan.

Can you advise on what is wrong with this Reuben sandwich recipe; Mestemacher wholemeal rye with rye grains &?

sunflower seeds, with corned beef, gruyere cheese, sauerkraut %26amp; Thousand Island

My dad makes it but it just doesn't taste like a Reuben.......Can you advise on what is wrong with this Reuben sandwich recipe; Mestemacher wholemeal rye with rye grains %26amp;?
    Rye is the first thing!

Swiss- and it would be more of the ementhaler cheese.

The sandwich must be grilled. Can you advise on what is wrong with this Reuben sandwich recipe; Mestemacher wholemeal rye with rye grains %26amp;?
The cheese, to start. Traditionally swiss is used. Depending on the region, either corned beef or pastrami is used. (I have always used pastrami). The whole meal rye may also be throwing off the 'reuben taste'. Use a dark rye, such as russian or marbled. Jacob Reuben, known by many as the inventor, assembled the sandwhich as follows: dark rye bread, thousand island dressing, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and corned beef, and is grilled. I have always veered slightly from this, preferring not to include dressing.
It's either the wrong cheese or it's the sunflower seeds in the bread. Try switching to Swiss and another type of rye bread.

Corned beef is fine - 1/2 corned beef and 1/2 pastrami is good too.

Thousand Island vs. Russian dressing - I guess they're pretty much the same thing, Russian is sometimes a little creamier without as much stuff floating in it.

Go light on the sauerkraut - if you use too much it could overpower the other flavors.

EDIT: Gruyere may be from Switzerland, but the reuben is made with what Americans call ';Swiss'; cheese - that's the one with the holes, Emmentaler. Gruyere has a strong specific flavor that may be affecting your sandwich.
A reuben is supposed to be made with pastrami, not corned beef....
I think it's the cheese. Ruebens are made with Swiss, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm 37, 211 lbs........ Please give me some advise, good and bad things about having a child.?

I've never had a child but i'm thinking about it. The doctor just recommends that i lose weight first and i'm having a difficult time doing that.I'm 37, 211 lbs........ Please give me some advise, good and bad things about having a child.?
I can relate to that. I'm really short and was weighing 165 and now my boyfriend wants me to have another baby. I'm seriously thinking about it and not weigh 150. The thing is I'm 45 years old and have a 3 yr. old already alone with 5 other biological and 7 adopted.

I'm losing really good on isagenix and only been on it for one month. It's really healthy and it cleans out your cells and replenish your cells with what really suppose to be there. If you cell do not get what it needs, the cells will replenish itself with close component of what it need and the body soon start breaking down. This is a great diet to go on and will get your body well ready for pregnancy. It's expensive but it's great. You can goggle it or just email me and I can tell you how to get it. Good luckI'm 37, 211 lbs........ Please give me some advise, good and bad things about having a child.?
Weight does play a factor in a pregnancy, but so does age. I was overweight with all 3 of my pregnancies and they all turned out fine.

Being overweight does give you an increased risk of gestational dieabets that can be controlled by diet and medication that is safe to use during pregnancy.

Of course fertility is the main issue with age. The older that you are, the harder it is to become pregnant. There have been an increase of certain birth defects as well in women whose age is over 30, but there are tests to determine that and the risk is still low, especially if you take folic acid, eat healthy, etc.
This is probably the biggest decision you will ever make and it will change your life forever. It wont always be perfect but it will definitely be worth while.

I do agree that weight loss should be your first step. I went on Glucophage for my PCOS and I lost a lot of weight on it and conceived on it.

Losing weight lowers the risks for you and your baby including getting gestational diabetes, as you will be picking up even more weight during pregnancy.

You obviously want to give your little one the best start in life.
I was overweight with all my children but I was younger too when I had them. I didn't have any complications but I lost a little weight in the beginning and didn't gain more than 25 pounds on average with each one. All my babies were healthy with average weights. (The only problem is they didn't want to come out! I went right past my due date with each one) Each individual is different. If you don't want to take the time to lose the weight and want to get pregnant soon then my advice would be to at least eat healthy food like lots of fruits and veggies and maybe go walking for exercise. Believe me, walking does wonders! Good luck and hope this helped.
I joined la weight loss and lost 60 pounds in about 5-6 months. Key things to keep in mind....eat small meals throughout they day, (breakfast-snack-lunch-snack-dinner and then a very lite fat free snack if needed after dinner) Make sure your eating lots of FRESH fruit and veggies, getting your protein, limit red meats to every other day or every 3 days, and make sure your drinking LOTS of water. Moderate exercise, such as a brisk walk for 30-45min every other day should be great and get some good stretching in!! Good luck!
Your weight really depends a lot on your height, so it's hard to tell how overweight you are. I know a lot of overweight women who have had healthy babies and pregnancies. I wouldn't put off having a child just for weight reasons unless you have a weight-related health condition.

Stop speeding. Its people that speed that make the gas prices so damn high. the gas companies see that people just don't care about the burning of the fuel, so they jack the prices up, and up. If people would be more reasonable with their driving maybe we wouldn't have to pay so much at the pump.I got speeding ticket at 86 on 65 limit in Charlotte, NC. What should I do? Any advise?
