Does any1 have any homemade beer advise?

I'm interested in trying to make my own beer and was wondering if any1 has any advise or know of any website with information on how to get started and what things i need to have to start.Does any1 have any homemade beer advise?
Alton Brown is my favorite TV chef because he doesn't just tell you how to cook something, but the reasoning and science behind what you're doing as well. With that in mind, I recommend his method for home brewing beer. The recipe can be found on the food network website (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton鈥?/a> ) but why just read the recipe when you can watch the full episode, complete with tips, tricks, and all the information you'll need from finding a source of hops, to bottling and serving?

Certain individuals have taken all of Alton's work and submitted it you Youtube, so I'd recommend using the episode ';Amber Waves'; as a Manual/Bible for this project.

You can usually find a store that sells malt, yeasts and stuff to make beer and wine in most any large town. Do a google search and you will find all kinds of info. I made homemade beer a long time ago. I used a new plastic garbage pail to make mine in. One word of advice: Don't drink beer that has just been ';completed';. You will either get sick or get diarrhea. You need to age it for at least 30 days. Also, my dad used to make homemade beer and it used to explode in the cellar, so study up on why the bottles do that so it doesn't happen to you. Avoid putting the bottles in sunlight, too.
I like the guy's answer about Alton Brown. Not letting the bottles explode is also a great idea, because it is a very real chance.

I brewed beer years back and at the time the guy who was looked at as the formost authority was Michael Jackson. Not the dead one with one glove, but the other one. I would look at Amazon and search for homebrewing, and look for M.J.

I'm looking at the man with the beer,

I'm asking him to heat his wurt,

No message could have been any clearer,

If you drink your beer before it's done your gonna get hurt.
i am a home brewer....u can get an entire home brewing kit online for around $100. it comes with directions and all the equipment u need and the ingridients to brew about 48 bottles. if u have any questions...got to www.beeradvocate.com. it has a forum for home brewers where u can get ur questions answered. word of advice: be patient!!! beer takes a while to ferment. u will get the temptation to pop open a bottle early but the longer it ferments in the fridge, the better! good luck!

Basically a web version of John Palmer's highly regarded brewing book. It takes you from basic brewing all the way up to about as complicated as you could hope for.
