Can anyone give me advise on the quaker birds, looked on the net not much info, does anyone out there own 1?

Quaker parrots are also known as Monk parakeets. Before you get one, I would check with your state's laws regarding ownership. They are illegal in some, and others have different regulations regarding them. Here in Virginia, all quakers must be closed banded, but other than that ownership is legal. The website that the previous person gave you should have all the information you need. Here is a different website gives what laws are in place in which state regarding quakers. http://www.quakerville.com/qic/statelaw.鈥?/a>Can anyone give me advise on the quaker birds, looked on the net not much info, does anyone out there own 1?

I have 2. I have been answering your other questions. Have you checked the answers? What other advice do you need?

There are websites and yahoo groups out there specifically for Quakers. www.birdsnways2.com is great and they have a quaker chat as well as other chats.

There is a book by Mattie Sue Atthan published by Barrons about the Care of Quaker Parrots. Also, they are featured in Bird Talk magazine this month. You can get a copy right now from Petsmart or Petco. $5
Quakers are great pets. Lots of people own them. This website has plenty of information.
