it's very common for the heater control valve to freeze, stick or lock in the closed position, it's controlled by a cable from the temp knob and often the knob itself will break and not turn the temp selector due to the stuck heater control valve. first pull the knob off the temp selector and check to see if it's broken and not able to turn the switch, if so, replace the knob and check to see if the selector turns easily, if it binds or is hard to turn the heater valve is probably stuck and you will need to take it to a mechanic as it's a fairly difficult job.95 Accord: A/C works, defrosters work, but the heater will not blow hot air. I had the car fixed. The actual temp knob on the dash was stripped. So when I turned to hot or cold the knob was not gripping, but just going through the motion. $10 fixed the problem!

Sounds like your heater core is plugged. It'll need to be replaced.
The cable that actuates the air flap inside the heater box may be worn.
Look underneath the dash on the passenger side of the car. Turn the temperature selector back and forth while looking underneath the dash to find the little arm that is moving. Notice the direction that it moves when you select hotter air. After turning it to maximum heat, move the arm with your hand to see if it moves anymore.
Not sure on the fix, but problem is caused by worn components. Not sure if the cable mounts have come loose and the cable has slid in its mounts.
lol i left my truck at shop //no heat but mechanic couldent look at it because of all the inspections people didnt get on time...i live in SW virginia....cold today
